FIPOI: FONDATION DES IMMEUBLES POUR LES ORGANISATIONS INTERNATIONALES

 

La FIPOI, fondée en 1964, matérialise la politique d’accueil voulue par les autorités suisses et Genevoises pour les Organisations Intergouvernementales (OI) qui ont leur siège à Genève ou qui y tiennent des conférences internationales. La FIPOI regroupe cinquante collaborateurs/trices.
La mission de la FIPOI s’exerce par :

  • La location de surfaces de bureaux aux OI à des prix avantageux. La FIPOI assure l’exploitation et l’entretien des immeubles dont elle est propriétaire.
  • La mise à disposition gratuite du Centre International de Conférences de Genève (CICG) auprès des OI (et souvent non gouvernementales). D’une capacité de 2200 places, il est équipé pour l’interprétation simultanée en huit langues. (www.cicg.ch)
  • La location du Centre de Conférences de Varembé (CCV) d’une capacité de 200 places.
  • Le conseil et l’assistance des OI en matière de construction et de maintenance d’immeubles.
  • Le financement des immeubles, siège des OI, à des conditions favorables, grâce à des fonds octroyés par les Chambres fédérales suisses et aux terrains mis à la disposition par le Canton de Genève.
  • La recherche de locaux et de sites pour les OI souhaitant s’installer à Genève ou s’y développer.

Propriétaire de huit bâtiments, ses principaux locataires et clients sont le Haut Commissariat pour les réfugiés (HCR), le Haut Commissariat aux Droits de l’Homme (HCDH), le Centre du Commerce International (CCI), le Programme des Nations Unies pour le Développement (PNUD), l’Association européenne de libre-échange(AELE) l’Organisation Mondiale du Commerce (OMS) pour ne citer qu’eux.

FIPOI: BUILDING FOUNDATION FOR INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

From 1964, the FIPOI is there for offering competitive accommodations to IO’s and thereby implements the Swiss government policy of hospitality for Intergovernmental Organizations. The FIPOI has a staff of fifty.
The FIPOI task is to:

  • Lease office spaces at affordable prices, and ensure operational management and maintenance of the building owned by FIPOI.
  • Offer free of charge conference facilities at the CICG – International Conference Centre Geneva- to International (and often Non-Governmental Organizations). The Centre has a capacity of 2200 seats and is equipped with interpreter’s booth for eight languages. (www.cicg.ch)
  • Lease the Conference Centre Varembe which has a capacity of 200 seats.
  • Advise and assist IO on the construction and maintenance of premises.
  • Provide financing under favourable terms for the building of Headquarters of IOs, thanks to the funds granted by the Swiss Federal Chambers and the ground made available by the Canton of Geneva.
  • Find premises or sit for IOs when they wish to settle or develop their activities in Geneva.

Owner of eight buildings, its tenants includes, among other the HCHR, HCR, ITC, UNEP, UNDP, EFTA and WTO.
