CROQUET CLUB DU CERN
POURQUOI NE PAS JOUER AU CROQUET CET ÉTÉ?
Le club est ouvert à tous: nous recherchons de nouveaux membres, qui paient seulement 50% de la cotisation annuelle la première année.
Les leçons d’initiation
Les leçons sont offertes dès début mai sur le
site de Prévessin du CERN: le mercredi à
14h30 pour les retraités et un soir pour la population
travailleuse. Nous enseignons une
version facile à apprendre, le golf croquet.
Les joueurs utilisent un maillet soit pour passer
un arceau, chasser une boule ennemie ou
prendre position devant le prochain arceau.
Les parties durent à peu près trente minutes.
Grace à notre système de handicap, les débutants
disposent de tours supplémentaires
et peuvent ainsi jouer avec des membres
plus expérimentés, avec des chances de gagner.
Le lundi soir est la soirée sociale, les
jeux étant suivis d’un BBQ. Nous offrons
également les boules sur gazon.
Nous disposons de deux bons gazons et le matériel est fourni (vous aurez besoin de chaussures à semelles plates uniquement). Le clubhouse dispose d’un barbecue, bar, four à micro-ondes et grill.
Tournois
Nous organisons des tournois internes, des
championnats suisses et jouons des matchs
représentatifs avec l’Angleterre, l’Ecosse,
Galles, l’Italie. Allemagne, Autriche, Belgique.
Nos champions participent aux championnats
d’Europe et du Monde.

CERN CROQUET CLUB
ANYONE FOR CROQUET?
Come and join a friendly group of croquet enthusiasts this summer! Listen to the ‘clunk’ of your mallet hitting a ball through a hoop; hear the cuckoos calling in the woods bordering our lawns; enjoy a refreshing glass of wine after the game... and a social BBQ to follow. Sound like fun? The club is open to all, and new members pay only 50% of the annual subscription in their first year.
Lessons
Croquet lessons are offered from early May.
We teach golf croquet, an easier version of
croquet. Players use a mallet to hit their balls
through hoops, and the first to score seven
hoops wins. Games rarely take more than
thirty minutes. Through our handicapping
system, beginners are entitled to extra turns,
so can play against experienced players with
a chance of winning. Monday is Social Night,
with an enjoyable BBQ after play.
Facilities
We have two good lawns at the Cern
Prévessin site and equipment is provided
(all you need are flat-soled shoes). The clubhouse
has a bar, barbecue, microwave and
grill. NB We also offer lawn bowls.
Tournaments
We organise internal tournaments and Swiss
championships for both Golf and Association
Croquet, and play representative international
matches v England, Scotland,Wales, Italy,Germany
and Austria.Our champions also play in
the European andWorld championships.
