Those were your parting words to all your friends
So you "shifted gear, changed direction"
With a thankful heart to this Institution
Your work with refugees you ended
And a vision for its future you foresaw
The land of 13 months of Sunshine had beckoned
Your fine qualities there to proffer

We whom you have left behind
Remember your attributes rare
How steadfast you were in purpose
And complete in commitments dear
With zeal, courage you defended your ideals
Of freedom, democracy, social justice for all
Your generosity of purse and heart .
Stemmed from your deep love of God and Man

Your time at home was much too short
To pursue your dream for national unity,
reconciliation
In the land of your birth
Yet those dreams live on within us all
Today your life we praise and honour
May Almighty God the Father
Hold you in his bosom forever
