Pour se rendre au point de départ, deux possibilités suivant où vous habitez, soit la N5 par Thonon, Evian et Saint-Gingolph, soit l’autoroute par Lausanne et Montreux. Prendre la sortie Villeneuve, puis suivre la direction Evian, Saint-Gingolph. Depuis là, prendre la D30 direction Novel. A Novel, suivre l’écriteau « Départ excursions » pour arriver à un petit parking, à La Planche, 1205 m, point de départ.
Suivre les indications Lac de Lovenex. Après la traversée d’un torrent qui marque la frontière avec la Suisse, la montée devient assez raide jusqu’au Col de la Croix (1755 m). Une superbe vue sur les montagnes et sur le lac que l’on rejoint en 10 mn. Depuis le col, suivre le petit chemin qui part sur la droite et qui rejoint le pas de Lovenex à 1850 m. Arrivée en 1 h 45, retour par le même chemin en 1h15, soit au total 3 h, pour un dénivelé de 645 m.

Ne pas oublier de vous équiper de bonnes chaussures de marche et de vêtements adaptés à l’altitude et à la saison.

LE LAC DE LOVENEX
I am proposing a few small hikes of varying degrees of difficulty, to let you see new things, get some fresh air and relax a bit. Don’t forget : doing nothing is bad for your health. Here’s hoping you have fun hiking in pleasant and sunny weather.

To reach the starting-point there are two choices, depending on where you live – take either the N5 via Thonon, Evian and St-Gingolph, or take the autoroute via Lausanne and Montreux. Then take the Villeneuve exit, and head towards Evian and St-Gingolph.
From there, take the D30 towards Novel. At Novel, follow the “Départ excursions“ sign to arrive at a small parking lot, at La Planche, 1,205 metres, the starting-point. Follow the signs for Lac de Lovenex. After crossing a stream that marks the border with Switzerland, there is a stiff climb to the Col de la Croix (1,755 metres). There is a superb view of the mountains and the lake here that you can reach in 10 minutes. From the crest, follow the path leading to the right that rejoins the Lovenex path at 1,850 metres. You arrive in 1 hour 45 minutes, and return by the same route in 1 hour 15 minutes, for a total of 3 hours, and a change in altitude of 645 metres.
