LUNCHTIME LEARNING SESSIONS

SDLS has offered “Lunchtime Learning sessions”
several times in the past few years. These informal
gatherings take place in the Palais, generally
between 12.30 and 2 pm.
We have had the pleasure to welcome outstanding
guests, on a variety of topics, including
conflict resolution with Professor Johan
Galtun, Professor of Peace Studies &
Director of TRANSCEND: A Peace&Development
Network and, on the topic of knowledge
management, with Professor Gilbert
Probst, Geneva University, author of the
books “Managing Knowledge” and “Organizational
Learning”.
In November 2006, a “Lunchtime learning”
session was presented by Sir John Whitmore
on Coaching for Performance, Learning and
Enjoyment.
Sir John Whitmore, world-renowned business
coach and best selling author of “Coaching
for Performance” demonstrated to the
audience that coaching is an essential management
style of the culture of high performance
organisations.
It is more than a skill or a technique for individual
and team development, it is invaluable
for successful task performance and delegation.
Thanks to a joint action with Social and Medical
Services, a full week of presentations at
lunchtime was also offered to staff in June
2006 on the topic of “Heath and Well being”.
The different speakers covered a wide variety
of subjects, both in English and French,
ranging from “Relaxing through Yoga” by
Sanjeev Bahnot to “Les différentes étapes de vie” par Gérard Sueur, and to the medical and
psychological aspects of stress in the workplace.
Whenever such an event is offered by SDLS,
information is made available on the Intranet:
http://training, via broadcast and through
flyers throughout the Secretariat Buildings
Come join us for future sessions!
All staff members are welcome to these
events that generally take place from 12.30 to
2 pm. Whenever SDLS runs such an event, information
is available on our Intranet Website
http://training. Flyers are also displayed
in different places in UNOG and a broadcast
is made.
Ne manquez pas de telles opportunités et venez nombreux!
