A huge problem

J.M.Jakobowicz, Rédakteur en chef

I would like, for once, to thank our beloved administration for the care it takes of us. Whenever we feel depressed our administration finds the right words to comfort us by sending out an irresistible joke that warms our hearts. Just to give you an example, look at the on-line training course for integrity which was made available to us recently. For those who haven’t done it yet I would strongly recommend it in order to have one or two hours of hilarity.
You will find in this masterpiece of bureaucratic stupidity multiple choice questions which were undoubtedly drafted by a drunken Marx Brother. For example, one of these questions is if a supplier offers you a Rolls Royce should you accept it or ask for the bill? Another crucial question is when your boss asks you to go to bed with him or her in order to get a promotion, should you accept, refuse or report them? If one of your colleagues is taking home a computer every night without ever bringing it back, what should you do? Close your eyes, help carry the computer, or report him/her? These are just a few of the questions you will have to answer to get your compulsory integrity diploma. Can you imagine such nonsense? If you complete this questionnaire properly you will be certified honest!
In return I would like to ask our administration a few questions: Who was paid, and how much, to create such stupidity? Why do you take your colleagues for dummies? Is the cost of the time I spend to answer this compulsory questionnaire accounted for in the exercise? Do you consider our English speaking colleagues to be more stupid than the French ones as the questionnaire only exists in English? Last but not least: did you read this questionnaire before putting it out on the Internet? Because if so, I’m afraid that we have a huge problem!
