Loisirs

Why not do it?

Aiguilles Rouges cabin (2,810 metres)

André Rotach

Aiguilles Rouges

Iam proposing a few small hikes of varying degrees of difficulty, to let you see new things, get some fresh air and relax a bit. Don’t forget: doing nothing is bad for your health. Here’s hoping you have fun hiking in pleasant and sunny weather.

Aiguilles Rouges cabin (2810 m)

Take the autoroute to Sion. Head in the direction of Arolla, passing Vex, Evolène and, at the exit, Haudères. Continue towards Arolla. Go up to the centre of the village and take the road leading off to the left. It goes to the starting-point, a parking lot near a ski lift called Guitza.
You will pass by “Par Gra” (in 1 hour, 15 minutes) and the Aiguilles Rouges cabin (1 hour, 15 minutes), then go down to the Lac Bleu (1 hour, 15 minutes) and return towards Arolla (1 hour, 45 minutes), for a total hike of about 5 and a half hours and a change in altitude of 850 metres. You can eat at the cabin.
For more details, see Guide des randonnées, Valais romand, édition Rother.
Indispensable: an official map from the Fédération suisse de tourisme pédestre (Office fédéral de topographie), 1326 Rosablanche and 1327 Evolène.
Don’t forget to wear good hiking boots and weather-suitable clothing.

Happy trekking!
