Why not do it?

The hostel at Alpe Bricola (2,415 metres)

Iam proposing a few small hikes of varying degrees of difficulty, to let you see new things, get some fresh air and relax a bit. Don’t forget: doing nothing is bad for your health. Here’s hoping you have fun hiking in pleasant and sunny weather.

The hostel at Alpe Bricola (2,415 metres)

From Sion, head towards the Val d’Hérens, via Evolène. At Vez, continue straight towards Haudères. At the Haudères exit, take the left before the bridge and head to Ferpècle. On reaching Salay (1,766 metres), you are at the starting-point.
Start out for Bricola along a small paved road. At the first fork in the road, take the left. Follow this little road past the “Joseph et Henriette” snack bar, then on to the Ferpècle marker (1,855). A little path to the left will lead you to the Alpe Bricola hostel (2,415 metres) in about 2 hours. From the hostel, there is a great view of the Mont Miné and Ferpècle glaciers, as well as the Dent Blanche (4,367 metres).
You can return by the same route in an hour and 45 minutes. The entire trip takes about 4 hours, for a total change in altitude of 649 metres. You can eat at the hostel, or at the starting and finishing point, at Salay.
For more details, see Les Plus belles randonnées pédestres,Valais Romand, édition Rother. Also indispensable, the official map of the Fédération suisse de tourisme pédestre (Office fédéral de topographie), 1327 Evolène.
Don’t forget to wear good hiking boots and weather-suitable clothing.

Good trekking!
