Part II

Mount Sodom: A dramatic view over the Dead Sea

At the south end of the beautiful, yet barren Dead Sea area, there is a mountain known as Mt. Sodom. It is adjacent to this area that the city of Sodom was located. The Bible indicates that there were more than just the two cities of Sodom and Gomorrah that were destroyed that day. So far, at least 5 cities have been discovered that were turned to ash with sulfur balls strewn throughout them. The location of each of these was found by scrutinizing satellite maps of the area, in search of geometric shapes, particularly square or rectangular areas.
Concerning the proposed cause of the destruction, it is said, that it was the result of an earthquake that forced combustible material to the surface and into the atmosphere. Surveys have located bitumen, petroleum, natural gas and sulfur in the area.
