Poem

3:30 Meeting

It’s that look.
Glassy eyes on the verge of tears.
Eyes that express pain, humiliation, frustration, helplessness, injustice, vengeance, hate.
It’s in the eyes.
The words ramble on and on, but it’s the eyes that give it all away.
You’re suffering but I cannot take away your pain, your powerlessness
You want to tell the world what they have done to you

I can only listen and wish you what guides me:
Courage to change the things you can change
Serenity
to accept the things you cannot change, and most important
the Wisdom to know the difference Let these words give you the answer you seek.
We part, you apologize for taking up my time
Eyes on the verge of tears.
