New e-Sources at the UNOG library

The UNOG Library, committed to the continual enhancement of user services and satisfaction, has recently subscribed to an additional four external information databases. These databases are freely available on the Library’s homepage: http://www.unog.ch/library/ by clicking on “e-Resources” and then “External Databases”. To access the databases, an ID and password are required. Please contact the Library’s General Reference Unit at -74181 or send an email to library@unog.ch to obtain this information. Below is a short description of each of the new information databases available:

Source OECD

The online library of the OECD providing access to the full- text of all its publications. Comprises OECD’s book collections by theme, containing all monographs and reports; periodicals; reference works; and the OECD statistical databases allowing the user to build their own tables, in real time, online.

Yearbook of International Organizations

A comprehensive and up-to-date reference to non-profit international governmental and non-governmental organizations. Not just a directory of names and addresses, the Yearbook provides detailed profiles covering the most important 30,000 organizations active in about 300 countries and territories. Also includes profiles of world problems and issues, human values, human development etc., as well as Who’s Who biography and bibliographic sources.

Oxford English Dictionary

Provides access to the wealth of material contained in the 20-volume second edition of the Oxford English Dictionary and the 3 volumes of supplementary material, known as Additions. It is a rich source of scholarly information on the meaning, history and pronunciation of words both past and present.

Encyclopaedia Universalis

One of the most comprehensive encyclopaedic databases in the French language. Covers a vast range of topics, often in-depth, and includes an Atlas comprising more than 200 countries and regions of the world.
