lèvent tard!
Il ne fait pas bon venir de bonne heure le matin! Un de nos collègues
particulièrement matinal, s’est vu coller un papillon sur
le pare-brise de sa voiture. Motif: vous ne devez pas laisser votre
voiture la nuit au Palais! Or ce collègue était tout
simplement arrivé trop tôt.
The world belongs to those who get up late
It is no good to come early in the office! One of our colleagues,
an early bird recently got a ticket on his wind- screen. The reason
was that it is forbid- den to leave a car during the night in the Palais.
His only sin was that he had arrived too early!

L’autre matin en arrivant de bonne heure, j’ai eu le plaisir
de voir une dangereuse terroriste prise au piège. Il s’agissait
d’une collègue coincée avec son vélo dans
le portillon de la place des Nations. Heureusement, la sécurité
est bien vite venue la libérer avec un ouvre-boite.
The terrorist trap
The other day arriving relatively early I had the pleasure to see the
UN-security- terrorist-trap at work. A terrorist – in fact I discovered
later that it was a colleague – was trapped with her bicycle in
the “portillon” of the Place des Nations. I don’t know
whether she had spent the entire night there but she didn’t look
too well. Thanks God UN security rushed with its little car to release
the poor colleague. As already stated it is no good to come too early
to work!
Il faut qu’une porte soir fermée
Nouvelles directives de la sécurité: au vu des nombreux
vols qui ont lieu dans les bureaux, les fonctionnaires sont priés
de les fermer à clé, même et y compris lorsqu’ils
vont en réunion. Deux questions: A quoi servent les caméras
cachées ? Peut-on aller au petit coin sans fermer la porte du
bureau ?
A door must be closed
New directives from security: taking into account the increasing number
of theft in the building, we are instructed to close the door of our
offices when going out, even during the day when going to a meeting.
Questions: Why do we have a sophisticated camera system ? Do I have
to close the door when I go to powder my nose ?
Une faillite annoncée
Galaxy encore! Le système de recrutement n’a pas fini
de faire parler de lui. Non seulement il ne fonctionne pas, non seulement
il submerge le service du personnel de milliers de candidats totalement
farfelus, mais en plus il coûte de plus en plus cher. Beaucoup
d’entre nous avons déjà eu la chance d’avoir
une formation de quelques heures sur ce système unique, et bien
rebelotte. L’administration nous offre une nouvelle formation complémentaire.
De qui se moque-t-on ? Cette nouvelle formation tendrait à vouloir
dire que ce sont les fonctionnaires qui n’ont rien compris alors
que c’est le système qui est en cause. A quand un formation
pour apprendre à comprendre la formation. Pourquoi ne pas avoir
le courage tout simplement de dire que Galaxy est une faillite tout
comme IMIS et le reste de notre informatique et repenser le tout en
fonction des besoins de l’organisation et non en fonction des penchants
de certains!
The golden path
Galaxy again! A wonderful recruitment tool. Not only does it not work,
it drowns personnel with thousands of unqualified candidates. And on
top of it all, it is becoming more and more expensive. Many of us have
already had the pleasure of being trained on this unique system. The
Administration is now offering additional training. Who are they kidding?
This supple- mental training would have us believe that it is the staff
who understood nothing when it is the system itself that is to blame.
When can we expect a course to understand the training course. Why not
just have the guts to simply admit that Galaxy is a failure, just as
IMIS is a failure and the rest of our IT machinery and to rethink our
strategy based on the needs of the organization and not on the whims
of a few.
