• They are not really sports or play but a form of low theatre.
• They make players greedy.
• They provide figleafs for dictators.
• The players are rootless and belong only where the money is.
• Players gladly share platforms with politicians.
• Professional players discourage amateur play.
• Professional players proudly develop ridiculous skills,hitting or kicking inflated balls with feet or heads, sliding down snowed slopes on their backs.
• Professional sports deflect us from more important things, like how to best live our lives or the meaning and value of anything except winning over others at games, including making money.
• Professional sports promote passiveness in the spectators.
• Crowds at game secretly want to see hard violence and blood shed. Now, even the pretence of sportsmanship, or showing respect for opponents, has been shredded and lost.
• Finally, professional athletes promote national chauvinism even if they are not even from the country they are supposed to represent.
