The Solidarity Fund for Ethiopian Women (SFEW) and 1% for Development Fund — Extends a most heartfelt

To all those who supported the SFEW & 1% for Development fundraising lunch held at the Staff Room of the International Labour Office (ILO) on 21 September 2001. This support was manifested by the strong and large presence of all of you who bought tickets and participated to the lunch, by the donations of those who could not come, by those who made a last minute decision and were present by the door even after tickets were sold out, by purchase of Ethiopian handicraft and other donation items presented on site, and by the invaluable voluntary work of all the people who dedicated their efforts to making the event a success.

The net profit of this fund-raising endeavour amounts to SFR. 9100.-. Out of this SFR.7000 has been already sent to the Medical Missionaries of Mary, Counselling and Social Service Centre for HIV/AIDS. The amount goes towards Food subsidies for 625 patients and their families and food subsidies for additional 250 AIDS orphans.

We hope that while making a concrete contribution to the struggle against HIV/AIDS, you were also able to enjoy the Ethipian national food “Injera & Wate” prepared by the members themselves along with the traditional Ethiopian hospitality.
